Zoom Teeth Whitening:
More and more people today are choosing teeth-whitening procedures to reverse the effects of aging and staining from foods and/or tobacco usage. Teeth whitening (or bleaching) is a simple, non-invasive dental treatment used to change the color of the natural tooth enamel. It is an ideal way to enhance the beauty of your smile. Professional whitening performed by our practice is considered to be the most effective and safest method.
Dr. Stephen Miloser offers two types of whitening procedures at our dental offices in Pittsburgh:
OPTION 1 - ZOOM
Our In-office whitening procedure uses the Zoom Advanced Power Chairside Lamp to accelerate the bleaching process. The lips and gums are covered leaving the teeth exposed. The Zoom gel is then applied to the teeth for 15 minutes while the Zoom light is activated. The gel is applied for three 15 minute sessions.
OPTION 2 - TAKE HOME TRAYS
This option requires two appointments. During the first appointment, impressions are taken to fabricate the take home trays. During the second appointment, trays are adjusted for custom fit, whitening solutions and instructions for use are explained in detail for optimum results.
It is important to remember that whitening may not be as effective for everyone. Dr. Miloser will perform a thorough examination and shade assessment as well as background medical history to determine if you are a candidate for this procedure.

COMPOSITE (TOOTH COLORED) FILLINGS:
There are many types of filling material available. You and Dr. Miloser can discuss the best options for restoring your teeth. Composite fillings, along with silver amalgam fillings are the most widely used. Composite fillings are tooth colored; therefore, they can be matched to the color of your teeth. They are more aesthetically suited for use in front teeth and the more visible areas of your mouth. It is normal to experience sensitivity to hot and cold when composite fillings are first placed, although this will subside after your tooth acclimates. As with most dental restorations, composite fillings are not permanent and may need to be replaced in the future.
